About Me:

Twenty years in the OR. I scrub, I first-assist, I've worked with surgeons whose preference cards read like ransom notes. My own first-assist program got cancelled mid-schooling because California doesn't formally recognize surgical assistant certifications — so I learned this career path the hard way. This is everything I know, minus the hard way. Pushing for this profession to receive the recognition it deserves.

FAQ:

Is this affiliated with NBSTSA or NCCT?

No. This is an independent study resource, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected with any certifying body.

Are these real exam questions?

No. Every question is 100% original, written to teach the underlying knowledge. We never use or reproduce actual exam content.

Which exam is this for?

The core content serves surgical technology certification candidates broadly, with practice modes mapped to the published CST and TS-C exam outlines.

Will this information make me a first assistant?

No online information can. First Assisting is governed by state and facility, through credentialing and regulations. The First Assistant Track teaches the skills and the landscape; your facility and state decides who assists. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something worse than this.

Is it funny on purpose?

Yes. The jokes are free. The accuracy is what you're paying for.

Educational resource only. Not medical advice, not clinical training, not a substitute for an accredited program, and completion does not qualify or credential anyone to perform first-assist duties. Independent of NBSTSA, NCCT, AST, and all certifying organizations. Results are not guaranteed.
